Hello, Authors

Congratulations on publishing your book!  And thanks for your interest in having your titles stocked at Blushing Books.  While we are committed to supporting independent authors, as a small store, we must be selective about what we choose to carry on our shelves.  To be considered, you must read and agree to the following guidelines and terms, then submit a completed Author Consignment Request Form. 

Criteria we require for books on consignment:

• The book must be written and marketed as romance.

• The book should be professionally designed and bound with title and author on the spine and barcode with ISBN on the back.

• The book should not contain the use of Generative AI, whether for promotion of the book, book cover, or in the content within.

If we choose to consign you book(s), we will send you a consignment agreement to sign and return.  By signing the agreement, you are agreeing to the following:

• We offer standard consignment terms of 60/40, price set by author.  Any title we sell we will pay out 60% of the retail price to you.

• Consignment lasts for one quarter.  If you are interested in holding an in-store event, please click here.

• Author will provide five copies at the start of consignment and will be responsible for any restocking during the quarter.

• Consignment payouts will be completed quarterly within the first week of the month following the end of the quarter.  Payouts will be in January, April, July and October and will be made via Paypal.

We review sales performance every quarter.  If we feel sales are too low, the agreement will be terminated, and you will be asked to pick up any remaining books.  Books will be held for one month after termination notification.  If the consignor fails to respond at the end of the month, books become property of Blushing Books and will be donated.  For nonlocal authors, you can also elect to send us a shipping label.

Priority will be given to local authors, sub-genres that sell well in our store, and titles that fill gaps in our inventory.

Hello authors!  We are thrilled that you have found Blushing Books and are interested in coming in store for a signing/book release!

We gladly host romance authors, preferably near a book release, once per year per author. We have found that Sundays work best, we are open 12 pm to 4 pm and find that a 2 hour time slot works best, especially when we do stack two authors sometimes. You can choose 12 to 2 pm or 2 to 4 pm, both are busy and a good source of traffic!

As for selling - you will provide all books day of and we will sell them for you at our register with a 60/40 wholesale split. We will pay you out 60% of sale price of all books sold at the end of the time slot + any additional consignment books you would like to do (see consignment for authors above!)

You are welcome to sell any other items at your table via your POS and all profits are yours to keep. (Blind books, swag packs, bookmarks, etc.)

Our Bookish Babe Market is officially booked for February 6th 2027. We love supporting our local and indie authors by offering tables for selling your books! Tables are $50 per 2 hour time slot and are extremely limited. You will be responsible for bringing and selling all of your own books and merchandise.
