Kate will be in conversation with Maggie Rapier, author of Soulgazer and Wolftamer. Join these two authors for an evening of conversation about their new books, their writing journeys, and all things writing. ABOUT THE OXFORD GUIDE TO SCANDAL AND LIES
Set against the backdrop of post-WWII Oxford University, The Oxford Guide to Scandal and Lies is a historical mystery that blends romance, espionage, and academia.
Oxford, England, 1951. The Honorable Ginevra Bishop is determined to prove she is more than a debutante, while Sidney Braithwaite is a war veteran hoping to build a new life at Oxford. Though the two have little in common, the British Security Service has a reason to bring them together: there is a Soviet spy operating within the university, and the agent investigating them has been poisoned.
Now Gin and Sidney must work together to identify the informant before sensitive information falls into the wrong hands. As they follow the clues, their differences in personality, upbringing, and taste make them an unlikely team — but the connection between them is impossible to ignore. With a traitor closing in and sparks flying between them, they’ll have to solve the mystery before their mission, or their chemistry, blows up the operation.

Kate Westbury grew up a voracious reader of detective fiction, and unraveling plot twists became her favorite pastime. She now puts her whodunnit obsession to good use writing historical mysteries. Beyond the page, Kate teaches Latin and dreams of moving to an English village with crimes to solve.
